First off, Professor Celenza is the nicest, most knowledgable, and friendliest person i've met in or out of class. His classes are straight-foward and are a lot of work. I've never had to read 8 books and a course-pack for a 200 level class, but the high work-load made me appreciate his lectures a lot more. The class was difficult, but Celenza's enthusiasm and sense of humor made this a rewarding class.

Professor Celenza is an all around great person. He talks really fast during lectures, but he is funny, patient, and extremely intelligent. He loves it when you come into his office hours. He's one of the best history professors i've ever had at MSU, and i've had many.

Really great professor. Sadly enough, I think he's leaving for John Hopkins next year (or so I've been told repeatedly). He was always very friendly, very receptive to student's questions, and never made fun of people for asking stupid questions. He had a sense of humor, too, which was nice. Very, VERY smart and knowledgeable about history. I'd highly recommend him (if he's teaching here next year, or anytime in the future).
